To multiply two fractions, multiply the numerators together and the denominators together — no common denominator needed. Taking a fraction OF something is the same as multiplying by it, so 2/3 of 15 is 2/3 × 15. It is usually easier to divide first: 15 ÷ 3 = 5, then 5 × 2 = 10. With a mixed number, change it to an improper fraction before you multiply.
